Video – diving the wreck of the Antilla
April 30th, 2009This video shows the Antilla shipwreck, one of the most famous dive sites in Aruba.
The Antilla was a German freighter, scuttled by its crew during World War II when threatened by Allied Forces.
The 400 ft vessel is known locally as the ‘ghost ship’. It lies in 60 ft of water around ½ mile off the northwest coast of Aruba (near Malmok Beach and Boca Catalina).
The wreck is covered with giant tube sponges and coral formations, and is popular with both divers and snorkelers.
