The 7th Aruba Music Festival will be held at the Aruba Entertainment Centre on October 11 and 12 2008. Acts appearing include Reo Speedwagon (October 10) and Gloria Estefan (October 11). Tickets are available online at TicketWeb.
The Aruba Music Festival has been running since the 1980s. It started life as the Aruba Jazz and Latin Festival but in 2002 was renamed the Aruba Music Festival, and expanded to include a appeal to a more diverse audience.
Racing at the Aruba Heineken Regatta gets underway today and will continue until November 16. The annual sailing event is now in its 17th year and is the biggest catamaran racing event in the Caribbean. Around 50 boats from Aruba and Europe will be competing. The competition is sponsored by Heineken and the Aruba Tourism Authority.
The second Aruba Piano Festival will take place September 27 – 30 2007. Tickets go on sale today and are available from Samson Bookstore on LG Smith Boulevard and UNOCA, Vondellaan 2, Oranjestad.
Tickets for the 6th Aruba Music Festival are now on sale. The event will be held at the Aruba Entertainment Centre on October 5/6 and will feature Richard Marx and Robin Gibb. Tickets are available from the Aruba Tourism Authority website (www.aruba.com).
The Aruba Government has declared the sea between the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort and the Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort a restricted area. Jet-skis and other motorised vessels are permitted in the area but must reduce their speed and avoid making waves. Anchorage in this restricted zone is forbidden.
