No damage from Hurricane Felix

Hurricane Felix passed around 100 km north of Aruba today. The island experienced only rough surf and rain showers. No damage has been reported and Queen Beatrix International Airport has reopened.


Flights from Fort Lauderdale to Aruba

Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines has announced a new daily non-stop service between Fort Lauderdale and Aruba commencing November 10 2007. Flights will depart Fort Lauderdale at 11 am, arriving at Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport at 3.05 pm. Return flights will leave Aruba at 3.55 pm, arriving at Fort Lauderdale at 6 pm.


Tiara Air resumes flights to Curacao and Punto Figo

Tiara Air has resumed flights to Curacao and Punto Figo after the Aruba Aviation Administration lifted the restrictions it imposed on the airline last month. The ban was imposed after an audit of the company revealed administrative irregularities at the Aruba-based airline.


JetBlue announces new flights from Boston to Aruba

Budget carrier JetBlue Airways has announced that on June 30 it will commence Saturday-only flights between Boston and Aruba. Flights well depart from Boston at 7 am and arriving at Queen Beatrix International Airport at 11.45 am. The return flight will leave Aruba at 12.45 pm, arriving in Boston at 5.35 pm.


Tiara Air planes grounded

The Aruba Aviation Administration has grounded aircrafts belonging to Aruba-based Tiara Air. An Aviation Administration spokesman stated that the move had nothing to do with safety concerns, but had arisen after an audit of the company.
